Manor High School is an 11-16 school. Our main intake is in Year 7, in line with the national secondary transfer age, and students will stay on a Manor High until Year 11 when they sit their GCSE’s. Our school will remain the same size at around 900 students with an admission number of 180 on entry in Year 7.
Our operational capacity for each year group for 2018/2019 is:
- Year 7: 180 students
- Year 8: 180 students
- Year 9: 180 students
- Year 10: 90 students
- Year 11: 90 students
An Open Evening is held in the autumn term of each academic year, as well as Open Mornings at various times of the year, where we welcome parents and students to visit during the school day.
How to Apply
To apply for a place at Manor High School, you will need to put in an application through Leicestershire County Council Admissions
For those not living in Leicestershire, i.e. Leicester City, applications should be made through your local authority (LA) for main intake transfers (Year 7).
For in-year transfers, all applications should be made through the Leicestershire County Council.
Secondary Transfer Cycle Dates
Applications for the September 2019 primary to secondary school transfer can be made from the 1st September 2018. The closing date for applications for the September 2019 intake is 31st October 2018. Applications received after this date will be classed as late. Results for the 2019/20 transfers will be made available on 1 March 2019.
Places are allocated based on available spaces and our priority criteria. Full details can be found in our admission policy.
If secondary transfer applications exceed our admission number, a waitlist will run until the end of the autumn term of the intake year (Year 7). If your child has been refused a place in the school you have the right to appeal against this decision. More details can be found on the Local Authority Appeals pages. We do not run waitlists for applications to join other year groups (Year 8-Year 11).
Late applications will still be considered, however, they receive the lowest priority, i.e. they are only considered after all other applications which were received on time, unless there is a significant reason for lateness. Late applications that are not allocated a place will be added to the waitlist as above.
We welcome applications throughout the school year, subject to places being available.
If you want your children to join Manor High School, you will need to apply through Leicestershire County Council Admissions. In-year applicants and their family will be invited to visit the school and meet the headteacher before a place is offered.
We will accept applications so long as they will not cause prejudice to the efficient use of educational resources. If your child has been refused a place in the school you have the right to appeal against this decision. More details can be found on the Local Authority Appeals pages. We do not run waitlists for any year groups with the exception of the main transfer cycle in Year 7 (as specified above).
