The Pupil Premium is additional funding given to schools by the Department for Education (DfE). The Premium is allocated to schools based on the number of children who are known to have received Free School Meals (FSM) in the last six years, those who are or have been in care for a period of six or more months and children of members of Her Majesty’s Forces.
The Government states, ”It is for schools to decide how the Pupil Premium, allocated to schools per FSM pupil, is spent, since they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual pupils within their responsibility.” Source: DfE Website.
The Pupil Premium funding is provided to raise the achievement between pupil premium students and their peers, as well as being offered financial assistance for activities and resources which can most impact their learning.

At Manor High, Pupil Premium pupils can be found at all ability levels and are encouraged and enabled to perform as well as their peers.
We use the Pupil Premium money to help with uniform, essential school trips and learning support.
