Today BBC forecast is great with a scattering of fun

On Wednesday 2 November, The BBC Weather Roadshow came to Manor High. Thirty Year 9 students got the chance to hear what life as a BBC Weather presenter is like from Kay Crewdson, assisted by Ray Smithson.

They got the opportunity to present the weather forecast using the BBC Weather studio and were also taught how to forecast the weather using met office charts. The roadshow finished with Kay offering careers information, detailing how to get into journalism, broadcasting and meteorology.

The students had a fantastic morning and learned a great deal. They built on their self-confidence and presentational skills throughout the morning, as well enjoying seeing Mr Powell and Mr Greiff attempt to be weather presenters.

Both Kay and Ray commented on the quality of questions asked and the conduct and interest from students being amongst the best they had ever seen from a group of students.
