Manor High School is a highly successful school for boys and girls aged 10 to 14 (years 6 to 9). Most of our pupils come from the Oadby area. This is a desirable town on the outskirts of Leicester and the school has stunning views eastwards across the Leicestershire countryside. We also welcome a number of pupils each year from further afield across the city and the county.
We benefit from and celebrate a rich cultural diversity within our school community. The vast majority of our pupils come to Manor High from three primary schools in the locality. Most of our pupils move on to Beauchamp College for the next stage of their education where they continue to thrive. Our standards and expectations are very high and we strive for excellence in all areas of school life.
By taking pupils into year 6, we are able to offer a varied curriculum with specialist teaching in a wide range of subjects. Pupils make very good progress in their time at Manor High. We seek opportunities for enrichment and to learn outside the classroom. We offer plenty of after school activities and residential trips to enhance the learning experience for all learners. We are outward looking and enterprising but we also pride ourselves on traditional values of respect, hard work, support, care, aspiration and challenge. We are a listening school and we work closely with our Student Council and act upon feedback from all stakeholders including parents, students and the community.
Manor High is well connected to surrounding areas and to the city through good transport links. We are a short distance from the A6 and there is a frequent bus service immediately outside the school.
The School Day
All students are expected to be on the school site by 8.30 am and the last lesson of the day ends at 3.05 pm. By arriving punctually by 8.30am, the students have chance to prepare themselves and to be ready for a prompt start at lesson 1 which starts at 8.40. There are after school activities on most days and there is a before and after school study club available. Each day, there will be a 20 minute session in which either a tutorial or an assembly will take place after lesson 2.
