Truffle Workshop

On Saturday 20th March, we enjoyed an excellent online Chocolate Truffle workshop.

During this two-hour cook along event, participants learned how to make three different kinds of truffles, plus how to temper chocolate. It was amazing fun, if a little stressful at times for some of us trying to keep up!

One of the core mission statements of FOMH is to bring the school community together and the workshop succeeded in achieving this goal - it was wonderful to have new people taking part who haven’t previously been involved with the group.

FOMH would like to extend our thanks to all our volunteers and school staff who helped to make event this happen, but especially our ‘resident chocolatier’, Shenaaz, who shared her time and skills so willingly at this workshop. Thanks also to all the parents and members of the school community who supported the event by booking a place - we made an excellent profit of £200, which will go towards the new sports hall fund.

Here are a selection of photos and comments from this event.

‘The truffle workshop was great fun and it was really useful to learn how to temper chocolate.  The time flew by and the truffles were delicious.  I would definitely do this again.’

‘We really enjoyed the class a great idea especially in lockdown. Learnt how to make some yummy truffles. Thank you’

‘Thank you – my daughter (a wannabe chocolatier) really enjoyed this – already dreaming of combinations for our next batch!’

‘The cake truffles are genius...such a simple idea yet can be easily varied to make different flavours.’
