Spanish Theatre Production

At the end of January, all students in Y9 and 10 who study Spanish had an opportunity to watch a Spanish theatre production hosted by visiting theatre company, Onatti Productions.

All actors are Spanish native speakers who are trained to perform with clear, slow delivery and effective use of mime in order to improve students’ listening skills and to provide students with a valuable and enjoyable learning opportunity beyond the classroom.

This year’s play, El Campamento, was an account of two friends’ experiences on a camping trip who arrive at the campsite completely unprepared, with no food and no mobile phone reception – what could possibly go wrong?!

The play was an interactive experience and students from Manor High School impressed the Spanish actors and their peers with their Spanish skills, performing improvised scenes with the actors during the play.

We look forward to welcoming Onatti Productions back to Manor High School in March, when Year 9 and 10 French students will have the opportunity to watch this year’s French performance, Mon Père ne me comprend pas.
