Transition from Primary

The transition from primary to secondary school can sometimes seem daunting for both parents and students, so we manage the transfer process to help answer any questions and reassure the new students before arrival in the autumn. The following information and dates are important and will help you through the transition.

Open Mornings

We have a number of Open Mornings throughout the school year where parents and their children can visit the school during the day to speak to our friendly staff and students; see our inspiring teaching and learning in practice; experience our expertise Key Stage 3 and GCSE; plus discover our outstanding pastoral care provision.

Open Evening

We invite all prospective parents and students to attend our presentation evening at Manor High School. This provides an opportunity for you to learn more about our school and to ask any questions you may have about the transition process.

Transition Events

Our teaching staff and House Managers will be leading a number of activities with our new students, both in their primary schools and at Manor High School throughout the school year.

We also run additional transition evenings for our new parents and students, to learn more about our school.

Induction Days

We have three full induction days for our new students near the end of the summer term. This gives children a chance to get a real feel for our school. They spend one day within their new tutor group and one day enjoying taster lessons and the final day participating in our Sports Day.

Parent Handbook

Our Parent Handbook will give answers to many of the queries you may have and our newsletters will give you a glimpse of just some of the many events, activities and trips which happen within our school each month.
