Charity Fundraising

Each house has a chosen charity which they raise money for throughout the year.

In addition to the House Charities, the school annually supports many local and national causes. These include Sport Relief, Comic Relief, BBC Children in Need, Poverty Action Week, Readathon, Remembrance Day and World Book Day. In our 50th Anniversary year, we raised money towards an outdoor canopy for our school.

Rainbows

RainbowsAs the East Midlands’ only hospice for children and young people, Rainbows is a place where life-limited children and their families can find care and support. The charity was founded in 1994 by Harry and Gail Moore. Rainbows provides care to children and young people who have an incurable condition or a condition which means they are unlikely to live far into adulthood. Rainbows is a positive place, for living and enriching lives. The hospice helps children and young people reach their full potential and get the most out of their short lives. The running of the hospice costs £4.5m each year.

Wishes4Kids

British Heart Foundation

British Heart Foundation The British Heart Foundation is the UK's number one heart charity. They offer information about heart disease and advice on how you can help prevent it.The charity was founded in 1961 by a group of medical professionals wanting to fund extra research into the causes, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of heart and circulatory disease. After half a century of extraordinary scientific and societal progress they have helped to transform the landscape of heart disease.

 

WaterAid

WaterAidWaterAid is an international charity that transforms lives by improving access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation. Established as a charitable trust in 1981, Wateraid has gone from strength to strength to become one of the most respected organisations dealing solely with water, sanitation and hygiene issues. They believe that everyone everywhere needs a safe and sustainable supply of water: for drinking, washing, cleaning, cooking and growing food. It’s a basic human right. They work with hundreds of partners to deliver services and make change happen.
