Learning Support/SEND

Manor High school welcomes students with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Outstanding educational opportunities for all, regardless of prior ability, are at the heart of our values. We take a personalised approach, with each student at the centre of a personal learning plan. This helps us ensure that the needs of pupils with differing abilities and potential barriers are fully met.

This focus on individual achievement drives our target setting and school improvement systems, the delivery of our curriculum and our approaches to behaviour, attendance and well-being.

Every student at Manor High School has the opportunity to follow all National Curriculum subjects as well as GCSE and/or appropriate vocational subjects.  As a school we are committed to narrowing the attainment gap between SEND and non-SEND students through a combination of quality first teaching and appropriate interventions where necessary.

Our SENDCo liaises closely with all staff and other external agencies in order to support our most vulnerable students and those who have additional needs. She leads a team of very experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs), who work with class teachers to ensure that work is differentiated and accessible for all of our students. The parents of those students with an Individual Educational Plan (IEP) or Statement of Educational Need are invited into school frequently and we are available to the parents of any child who feels that support may be needed.
