Careers All Years – Labour Market Information
As part of National Careers Week, we gave an assembly that explained Labour Market Information to students. In tutor time, students were also given the opportunity to explore the Labour Market by using the World of Work Leicester and Leicestershire booklet.
This booklet allows students to explore a range of different workplace sectors available here in Leicester and Leicestershire, as well as job examples within these sectors. It also provides information about qualifications and pathways to careers as well as how to apply for jobs and apprenticeships. It is a really useful guide. An electronic copy can be found below. It is a good resource for parents to use to inform themselves about the ever-changing world of work and to help them guide and support our young people. Please look at this resource and look at it with your children too! The link for the electronic copy of the booklet is LLEP WORLD OF WORK LEICESTERSHIRE
National Careers Week 2024 - Be curious about careers in Leicester
Even though last week was National Careers Week, we are always thinking about the future of our students. Just a reminder that the NHS are holding a Health and Care Careers Jobs Event at Mattioli Arena (formerly Morningside Arena) – Saturday 9th March 9:30am-2pm. Pop along to it! Post 16 appointments/interviews
Students are starting to receive offers of places for their Post 16 education. With this, they may be asked to attend meetings/interviews. Please note that if these are in school time you need to contact the school in the same way you would about a medical appointment etc. We will only be able to let students leave the site to attend interviews if parents/carers have informed the school of the meeting beforehand. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
It is really important that we have confirmation from parents /carers for the WQE offers holding event on Tuesday. We will not let students leave school without consent.
Careers assemblies – providers of different options at post 16
This week our Year 9 students heard about the range of different vocational pathways available to them at Leicester College. It has been great working with our students over the past few months to help them develop their understanding of different pathways and different schools and colleges. We have some more assemblies coming up that will allow our students to gather more information about opportunities available to them for Post 16 education.
