Post 16 appointments/interviews
Students are starting to receive offers of places for their Post 16 education. With this, they may be asked to attend meetings/interviews. Please note that if these are in school time you need to contact the school in the same way you would about a medical appointment etc. We will only be able to let students leave the site to attend interviews if parents/carers have informed the school of the meeting beforehand. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
Staff from Beauchamp City Sixth Form (BCSF) will be in school on Wednesday 18th April. They are holding course guidance meetings with 35 of our students who have been offered places at BCSF. Meetings last 10 minutes and are a chance for BCSF staff to speak to our students about their option choices. Staff at Manor High School will let students know when their meeting times are.

Careers assemblies – providers of different options at post 16
It has been great working with our students over the past few months to help them develop their understanding of different pathways and different schools and colleges. We have some more assemblies coming up that will allow our students to gather more information about opportunities available to them for Post 16 education.
- Friday 12th April – Year 10 at 8:40am (ASK Apprenticeships)
Year 7 and 8 Colour Dash Assemblies on Monday 18th March
We had the Leicester Children’s Holidays charity in school on Monday 18th March presenting to year 7 and year 8 students about an exciting opportunity for them in May. Pictures from the assemblies are attached. After Easter, we will send out more information about how students can take part and how they can raise money for this amazing local charity. We have explained to students that we want to use the opportunity to take part in the colour dash event as an incentive for good behaviour and that taking part in the event will be based on this. We will be in touch with more information soon.
In the meantime, you can find out more about the good work the Leicester Children’s Holidays charity does here, Leicester Children’s Holidays (leicesterchildrensholidays.co.uk)
College Open Days and Events – all years
Although it may seem that making decisions about Post 16 schools and colleges is far away, the reality is that year 11 comes around quickly! Year 10 will be making their school and college choices for Post 16 education from September onwards.
It is always good to get an idea of what different providers offer. At this time of year, the colleges have additional open events and these are to allow students with their parents/carers to start thinking about educational choices for their time after Manor High School. We encourage all of our students, especially those in years 9 and 10, to start visiting colleges now. As a result, we have collated some open events for you. Please note, a lot of colleges require you to book onto these events via their website. We have included links for you as well.
