Year 10 work experience
We are regularly in touch with the LEBC about the progress of our students' placements. They have told us that students should be getting information regarding their placements about 5–6 weeks prior to their placement. This means we should be getting information to students either in the week just before half-term or at the beginning of the first week back at school after the break. We will keep you posted!
Year 11 Oxbridge talk
On Monday 22nd April, some Year 11 students attended a presentation by Mr James Neville about applying to Oxbridge universities as well as getting information about early applications for courses such as Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary. The presentation was insightful and gave useful tips and advice for applications to university in general.
The presentation Mr Neville used can be found here: https://prezi.com/p/pgucuhn8b_of/early-entry-ucas-jneville/
We have shared this with all Year 11 students, not just those who were in attendance on Monday.

A message from WQE:
During the Summer Term, WQE are offering Masterclasses specifically for Year 10 students. They hope that these sessions will allow staff and students to engage with bespoke and inspiring materials, with the aim of sparking interest and encouraging Year 10 students who are already starting to think about their Post-16 options. These run in a range of subjects (we shared a number of different sessions in last week's parents' newsletter). The masterclasses will all run between 16:45 – 17:45, so there will be no impact on school attendance.
For more information about the subjects and topics covered and also, including how to sign up for these, please follow this link: Year 10 Masterclasses - WQE
