Dear Families
We have now reached the month of December and the crisp, cold mornings are very much upon us. The weather is very much appropriate to the season. We again remind parents that students do like to spend their break times outside, therefore a winter coat is important. Blazers are also still expected to be worn under their coats, and we would appreciate it if you could ensure your child leaves for school dressed in their full school uniform.
We have begun our charity collection for the Oadby Foodbank and the food is starting to come to us now. The festive season is slowly approaching, and our school community is thinking of those locally who are less fortunate than ourselves or need a little help to bring about some Christmas cheer. Please continue to donate to this. There are tables in our Reception area for students to leave food.
I wrote last week to inform parents of the earlier finish on Friday 22nd December. Further details are again below.
Our charity bake sale and penalty shoot-out went well this week. The student council are currently counting the amount raised. Cakes sold well, and we thank parents for their support with this event. We will continue to support the humanitarian crisis in Palestine and Israel throughout this term. Our Christmas Jumper Day on 22nd December will also support this Donate to the Israel and Occupied Palestinian Territory Appeal (redcross.org.uk) with students bringing £1 to school to support the non-uniform Christmas jumper day.
Finally, you will have noticed that we are without a crossing patrol person at the moment and have been for some time. We therefore ask that parents park considerately to avoid put students at risk. Also though, there is a sign on the lamppost outside advertising the role. If anyone you know would be interested in the position, please pass the details onto them.
Mr S Greiff
