Headteacher’s Update
Dear Families
This week has been much quieter for us than the previous week. We have focussed upon classroom practice this week and have been monitoring the quality of teaching and learning in school. It has been really reassuring to see students focussed on learning and engaging in their lessons. In every lesson visited this week students are keen to talk about what they are doing, and also they understand why they are doing it, which is also very helpful for their understanding of context.
We also held our annual awards evening this week. As you can see from the photos this was a very busy evening but it was great to bring parents in to share in the celebration of the successes of students. We are very proud of what our students achieve, of both their academic progress and character growth and last night was an opportunity to share students’ achievements. There were awards given for all of our core values to all year groups and it was a real delight to see parents share proud moments with their children.
With best wishes
Mr S Greiff
Post 16 school and college open events
Please see a list of local school and college sixth form open events – Open Events 2026.
Mr Croucher also sent this out last week via class charts to students. Our Year 11 students need to start looking at a range of different opportunities for their post 16 education (after Manor High School). We have created a list of open events that are happening in the local area to help you. We will be working closely with Year 11 over the next few weeks and months to support them but in the meantime we need our students to start looking and to book places at some open events!
Sparx Maths Student of the Week
We’re delighted to celebrate this week’s Sparx Maths Student of the Week! This recognition is awarded to Roman of 7.5 who has shown outstanding effort, determination, and commitment to their independent learning on Sparx. Their hard work not only strengthens their mathematical skills but also sets a fantastic example for their peers. Well done – we are very proud of their achievement!
Special mention to Sameer Ali of 8.6 who has been making a huge effort with his SPARX maths work recently- keep up the hard work Sameer!
Keeping Our Students Safe at School Run Times
As the mornings and afternoons become busier around the school, we would like to remind all parents and carers to be aware of students who travel to and from school by bicycle.
Many of our students cycle independently and may be difficult to spot when traffic is congested. Please take extra care on the roads, checking mirrors and blind spots before manoeuvring, opening car doors, or pulling away from the kerb.
By slowing down, remaining vigilant, and showing consideration for all road users, we can help ensure that every student arrives at and leaves school safely.
Thank you for your continued support in keeping our school community safe.

This has been provided by a safeguarding partner that we work with.
If you have any concerns about your child’s online safety, please refer these to your child’s form tutor in the first instance.
Attendance
Attendance is fundamental to student success. Research consistently demonstrates that students who attend school regularly achieve better academic outcomes than their peers with lower attendance. By being in school every day, students benefit from high-quality teaching, develop their knowledge and skills, make sustained progress, and are far more likely to reach their full potential.
However, the importance of attendance extends far beyond academic achievement. Regular attendance provides students with opportunities to build positive relationships with peers and staff, develop essential social and communication skills, and participate fully in the wider life of the school. Face-to-face interactions help foster a sense of belonging, confidence and resilience, all of which contribute positively to students’ mental health and wellbeing.
Good attendance also promotes routine, responsibility and self-discipline, preparing students for future education, employment and life beyond school. Every day in school matters, and ensuring students attend regularly gives them the best possible chance to succeed both academically and personally.
Our attendance figures for the week ending 25th Sept
| Year group | Year to date | Weekly attendance for week ending 25th Sept | Comparison to previous wk |
