Comprehensive Pastoral Care: Supporting Every Student

We believe that a strong pastoral care system is vital to helping students thrive both academically and personally. That’s why Manor High School has developed a dedicated pastoral team focused on the welfare and wellbeing of every student.

Our pastoral structure includes:

Assistant Pastoral Leaders for each year group
These are experienced, non-teaching staff members whose primary role is to ensure the welfare of students. They provide a listening ear, offer guidance, and coordinate support for any issues affecting students’ wellbeing.

Standards and Progress Leaders
These are teachers responsible for the academic progress and standards within their year groups. They work closely with Assistant Pastoral Leaders to ensure a holistic approach to student development.

Form Tutors
The daily point of contact for students, form tutors play a crucial role in monitoring wellbeing, academic progress, and behaviour. They are often the first port of call for parents wishing to discuss their child’s experience at school.

Together, this team around the child ensures that every student receives personalised support tailored to their individual needs. Whether a student requires advice, encouragement, or more specialised intervention, our pastoral team works collaboratively to foster resilience and respect within a supportive environment.

How Our Values Shape Our Pastoral Care

Our pastoral care embodies the Manor High vision of Excellent People, Excellent Results. By promoting:

  • Excellence in care and support, we aim to help students achieve their full potential.
  • Inspiration through positive role models and a nurturing environment.
  • Resilience by equipping students with strategies to overcome challenges.
  • Respect for every individual’s unique journey and wellbeing.

We ensure that students feel valued and understood, which contributes to their overall success and happiness at Manor High.

Getting in Touch: Your First Step

If you have any concerns or wish to discuss your child’s wellbeing or progress, the best first step is to contact your child’s form tutor. They will be happy to listen, offer guidance, or connect you with the Assistant Pastoral Leader or Standards and Progress Leader as needed.

Summary

At Manor High School, we are proud of our comprehensive pastoral care system that puts the welfare of our students at the heart of everything we do. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to support each student’s journey, reflecting our core values and commitment to excellence in education and wellbeing.

For further information or support, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s form tutor. Together, we can ensure your child flourishes both inside and outside the classroom.
