Competition Winners

Congratulations to students from Manor High who won the recent Learning South Leicester (LSL) History competition.
LSL is made up of a network of schools across South Leicestershire who work together on many projects, both academic and sporting. They recently ran a History competition where students across the schools were given the task to:
- Choose your local hero.
- Explain why they deserve to be named our local hero. You have 250 words to argue your case.
Students were asked to research a local person and say why they were a hero to the local community. Manor High had many interesting entries that covered a wide range of individuals from scientists to Suffragettes. We had entries from a variety of year groups who showed their enthusiasm for their local communities.
First prize was awarded to Riya Choudhry (Year 9), and she will receive a £20 voucher, and we also had a runner up who was Ayaan Patel (Year 8) who will receive a £10 voucher. Huge congratulations to them both and to all those who entered the competition.
