St. George's Park visit for PE and CNAT students
GCSE PE and CNAT Sports Studies students took part in a fantastic Educational Experience day with Game Changer Performance at St George's Park this week. Students became strength and conditioning coaches for the day, planning, leading and participating in a range of activities designed to provide insight in to a professional footballers training programme both on and off the pitch. This consisted of planning a macrocycle on improving passing, a strength-based session, speed and agility testing, pitch conditioning, hydrotherapy and contrast bathing as part of the recovery process. Staff at St George's Park quoted, "It was great to have a group that really engaged with the sessions". Students were a credit to both themselves and the school!
Well done, it is always brilliant to receive such positive feedback.
Miss Powell also managed to bump in to Abbie McManus, defender for Leicester City Women's and had a great conversation about women in sport. Abbie wanted to give our female footballers at Manor High School a motivational quote regarding participation and opportunities to play, "If someone says no, the answer is yes".
Never give up on your footballing dreams!
