On Thursday 24th October we had 10 Year 9 students attend the TeenTech Leicester event at Morningside Arena.
TeenTech events are highly interactive and designed to inspire young teenagers and their teachers about the contemporary world of Science, Engineering and Technology.
The TeenTech event gives KS3 students and teachers the opportunity to try their hand at experiments, to handle leading edge technology and, most importantly to spend time with the Engineers, Technologists and Scientists influencing their 21st century lives.
It’s a powerful intervention just before students make GCSE subject choices, dispelling gender stereotypes and shifting perceptions of careers teenagers may have considered “difficult”, “geeky” or “boring”.
It was both inspiring and challenging but I enjoyed the experience and look forward to doing more science and engineering – Netania Martinson
It was really fun as we got to use modern tech like the driving simulator- Ethan Campbell
