Food bank donations pile up!

After our plee for donations to the local foodbank, the generosity of our students, parents and staff has left us speechless. Again.

Student volunteersOn 2nd December we sent an email to parents and staff asking for food items that could be given to the our local Oadby Food Bank. There was a list provided to ensure that those items in highest need, could be identified easily.

After just one week, the donations were literally piling up. Two large tables were packed full of donations of food, toiletries and treats for those less fortunate than ourselves. One lunchtime our student volunteers, offered to beginning packing the items into the large storage boxes provided.

Our Premises Team delivery the first load of donations to the food bankThe following day, the first delivery of boxes - two car loads! - were kindly taken to Trinity Church, where the food bank is located, by our Premises Team. They were received with "grateful thanks" by the team.

Donations to samosa sales by staff also funded a whole range of food products, with thanks to Aldi in Wigston for their help. Who would think a few samosas being sold could buy so much food!

However, that was just part one! By Wednesday 16th December a total of three deliveries had been made and the volume of donations was amazing. Our Head Girl, Niamh, Head Boy, Riese, made a video of thanks to all those who helped and donated.

This is a perfect example of the #ManorHighWay and how our students and families are always willing to go above and beyond what is expected.

Well done and thank you to everyone who has donated and helped support those in need this Christmas.
