Helping to 'Deliver Joy This Christmas'

One of our Manor High families, have been bringing joy to others this Christmas by taking part in a Christmas initiative by Dunelm.

Shoe boxes at DunelmDunelm stores are running a campaign to provide gifts for vulnerable people who might not otherwise receive one. They include elderly care home residents, children from low-income homes and sadly, an increasing number of women who have had to flee abusive relationships this year. The idea is that shoppers collect a gift tag for a specified individual eg. ’10-year-old boy’ and fill a box with a gift for that person.

Two of our students, siblings Riya and Yash, saw this appeal and were keen to help out. They and their parents collected four tags, two for girls and two for boys, and set about creating a lovely surprise for these children. The boxes were then returned to the Thurmaston store where they were gratefully received by Niki Hamilton, the store’s Community Champion, who updated the family that the store had received 210 filled shoeboxes which will be distributed this week.

A fantastic result and one which Dunelm hopes to build on next year. To find out more, follow the link:
