Study Support Session for Parents
We organised for Jeremy Dry from Maximize Your Potential to run a session for parents, to help support children at home at this time.
“Nothing is Impossible” was the message for students and parents on Wednesday 10th February. Year 11 experienced a Motivation Day where there were a series of workshops to encourage them to continue to work hard, and be resilient at these times. During the day, Jeremy Dry from Maximize Your Potential (@MaximizeYP) ran two sessions that were very well received by students. We are aware that these are uncertain times for all students, however they are remaining positive, and aware that their positive actions now will have a positive influence upon their futures.
Jeremy also ran a session for parents in the evening, that was attended by around 200 families with the aim of helping to support children at home at this time. The presentation focussed on the marginal gains required for success, the importance of resilience and independence and how parents can support young people at home with these.
There was some great feedback from parents, who examples are below:
“Excellent presentation with inspiring quotes from @MichelleObama and many more inspiring icons and academics!”
“Found it really really helpful. Well presented and engaging. Lots of good ideas to take away and put in practice.”
